A group of 16th and 17th century Persian carpets decorated with flowers spring from vases. Most are direction rugs and can be viewed one angle only. Varamin is located 40 kilometers southeast of Tehran. Varamin has been in fact one of the largest and oldest villages of Iran. Varamin rugs depicting the Mina Khani and Memling gull designs. Rugs are woven on a cotton foundation and the asymmetric knot is used.
